MY VIEWS- To cook roti,paratha is my daily routine. I really love to do something new in my kitchen ;). When I go to try a new dish after informing my daughters then they are always in a state of shock that what would happen to them next😁 ! This time I tried this roti and paratha masala . It gave a new flavour and taste to simple roti or stuffed paratha. So, for this time too, my daughters and hubby were safe😅! Cooking, eating and serving same roti everyday is really boring. You can change it by adding this masala and salt in your flour while making many items as, roti, paratha, puri, naan and also in stuffed parathas. I found this masala is more effective in making puris.Using different spices or masala gives your dishes a new look and you can become a favourite chef of your hubby and kids as like me:mrgreen:. So for me this masala is a multi-purpose masala and by using your imagination you can give a new look to your common dishes. Specially kids will like this as the colourful roti or paratha or puri attracts them.If you haven’t cooked any veggies then you can serve these roti or paratha with curd/dahi or pickle.
RECIPE OF ROTI-
As in Indian household cooking roti or Indian flatbread is not a difficult task. But today I am sharing you a method of cooking soft roti which will remain soft for 7-8 hours.
Wheatflour- 2 cups
Hot water- as needed
Salt- as per taste
Galaji roti and paratha masala-2 tbs
Ghee- 1 tbs
1. In a wide bowl add wheatflour,salt,galaji masala,ghee and required water. Mix well and knead it form a soft dough.
Roti made from well kneaded soft dough remains soft for a long time,after kneading cover it with a wet cloth for 20 minutes.
2. Now make small to medium balls of the dough. Flatten the ball and sprinkle some whole wheat flour to the dough ball. Turn on the gas stove and put tava on it.
3. After getting hot,start rolling the dough ball into a flat round circle. Put roti on the hot tava,first cook on one side. It should be less than half cooked, turn and cook the other side. This should be little more cooked than the first side,brown spots should be visible.
4. Now hold the roti with a tong and keep the first side directly on fire,the roti will start to puff. Turn and keep the other side on fire. Avoid burning otherwise,it will become crisp.I made both roti and paratha with this masala.
Keep all rotis in a box covered with a muslin cloth.Now soft rotis are ready to serve.
Tried this masala while making laccha paratha.
Also made stuffed chanadal paratha with this masala.
Prepared naan while adding this masala.
Tasty, puris with this masala. I found this masala goes very well with puris. Colourful puris also attracts kids.
All tasty delicacies in one plate.
