How are you? I hope you all are having an amazing day today! I am going to share a mouth-watering dish which you can serve it for a weekend get-together or at any festive occassion. It is the most yummiest 😍and most liked snack in my home. It can be eaten as a snack or as a part of meal. It is just sooooo delicious that i am sure you all will like this. It is none other than DAHI VADA . It is a popular snack where lentil dumplings are dunked in a creamy whipped yogurt topped with spicy and sweet tamarind chutney.
• Lentil/urad dal- 1 cup • Soda – 1/2 tsp • Salt- as per taste. • Ginger- finally chopped. • Yogurt- 1 cup • Tamarind chutney- 1/2 cup. • Black salt- 1 tbs or as per taste • Roasted cumin powder- 1 tbs • Chat masala- as per taste
METHOD OF PREPARATION – • Soak urad dal for atleast 8-10 hours. After that wash and drain the urad dal. • Grind dal in a mixer to a coarse paste. • Add soda,salt and ginger,mix well till the batter is light and fluffy. You can check by pouring a pinch of mixture into the water if it floats then it’s ready to make vada. • Wet your hands and take batter ,pour in hot oil kadahi &deep fry on slow flame. Fry till vadas are golden brown. • Put these vadas in water for about 45 minutes. • Just before serving, drain and squeeze out the excess water. • Arrange the vadas in serving dish and pour beaten curd, garnish chilli powder,sweet tamarind chutney, roasted cumin powder and black salt.
Now it’s ready to serve. P. S. – • You can also mix moong dal with urad dal.
